It came with HPSimplePass (biometrics finger scan), which over time I have updated the software which is now by Authentec.
Problem is that often it does not work consistant enough across three browsers, IE, Firefox (this works the best but is used the least) and Chrome. I've had many emails exchanges with Authentec Tech Support, performed updates, have done many uninstalls and reinstalls, and still it has not worked consistantly. Many times I don't get the pop up 'toolbar' prompting me to use HPSimplePass if I choose, but when I don't on sites that the browser has already been registered, I am promped after I login if I want HP SimplePass to remember login info. Next time I visit the site, using the same browser, it does not work (mostly IE) but does with an other broswer. Fingerscan device is built into the laptop case and the software is HP's and my laptop so it should be covered by HP. As an alternative, can I obtain HPProtect Toos so I could use face recognition instead since I have a built in Webcam with HP TRueVisioin HD?
