I'm trying to install my brand new copy of Oblivion GOTY from the Elder Scrolls Anthology collection, but whenever I try to install, and no matter where I install it to, I get this message shortly after it trys to install the game's meshes: 'please insert disk 0 the contains the file data3.cab' and it prompts me to select the disk directory. At first I thought it was just asking me to insert disk 2 in a funky way, but after I inserted disk 2 and clicked ok, it gave me a 'feature transfer error, feature: Defaultfeature Error: Catastrophic Failure' and exits without installing anything. After googling the issue I can't seem to find anyone having this issue with Oblivion, and those having the issue with other games seem to be brushed off as having pirated the game, which I can guarantee is not the case with me.

Does anyone have any idea what's causing this issue? I'm running windows 7 and should be able to play several copies of this game at once with the specs I'm running. Edit: After looking through the disks, it seems data3.cab is indeed on disk 2, and I was able to run the installer for knights of the nine and shivering isles seperately when I had the vanilla installer open and prompting me for disk 0. Despite this, I still can't get the vanilla game to install.

PC GAME FIXES Morrowind for related No-CD & No-DVD Patch No-CD & No-DVD Patch troubleshooting: The most common problem getting a No-CD/No-DVD patch to work is ensuring that the No-CD/No-DVD patch matches you're game version, because the games exe is changed when a patch update is applied previous versions won't work. If its an older game you are playing and you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 it may not work, if you right click the.exe file and choose Properties and then Compatibility you can change this to run in Windows 98/ Windows 2000 etc. You can find more information on the Beginners Help page.
